We are pleased to announce that SBT 's security experts have introduced MSS for EDR, which monitors endpoint security systems 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
■ Background of introduction
Tekken Construction was established in 1944 as a national company specializing in railway construction in order to secure and increase land transportation capacity, and as a top runner in railway construction, has been involved in numerous projects such as the Shinkansen and the new station building at Harajuku Station.
We are currently undergoing a transformation of our IT environment, and have started a project to introduce cloud services in 2020. At the same time, we believe that it is necessary to strengthen security measures for the PCs (endpoints) used by users, so we decided to introduce a new product with EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) functionality.
Regarding the operation of security products, there have traditionally been issues such as ``concerns about whether the content of alerts is correctly identified'' and ``difficulty confirming whether the actions requested by the user are being carried out appropriately.'' I thought it would be best to use an external service that has someone.
SBT 's "MSS for EDR" provides security monitoring 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including threat analysis by security experts, and MSS can take actions such as isolating user terminals depending on the situation. The deciding factor was that the service could be started immediately after the product was installed.
■ Effects of introduction
We started using “MSS for EDR” two to three weeks after signing the contract in November 2020. Security analysts at the monitoring center investigate, analyze, and consider countermeasures for alerts before contacting us, eliminating concerns about identifying alerts. We believe that the problem of not knowing whether the actions requested by the user are being carried out appropriately will be solved if the monitoring center can take measures such as disconnecting the user's PC from the network depending on the situation.
In addition, the burden on operational tasks has been reduced by having security analysts contact us about the content of alerts and countermeasures. With 24/7 security monitoring, we have created a secure environment where you can use your PC with peace of mind even during nighttime work.
In the future, with the full-scale use of cloud services starting in April 2021, we plan to implement measures that incorporate the concept of "zero trust security" based on the premise of diverse work styles. SBT will continue to support security enhancement and work style reform by leveraging our knowledge of cloud and security.
