SoftBank Technology Corp.

SoftBank Technology Corp. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Shinichi Ata, hereinafter referred to as SBT) is a subsidiary of Tokyu Corporation (Location: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President and Representative Director: Kazuo Takahashi, hereinafter referred to as Tokyu Corporation). We built a crew supervisory system for Japan Railways (Electric Railway) using Microsoft SharePoint.

■Background of introduction
Crew supervision involves a wide range of tasks, including the guidance and training of crew members, quality management, and labor management. At Tokyu Corporation, management was primarily done on paper, using different formats for each crew area. However, paper-based records and management required time for handwritten work and checking, creating a burden on business supervisors. In addition, since a lot of information was stored at each site, there was a need to create a system to further improve the safety level by sharing useful information and using it for crew guidance. It became necessary to systemize crew supervision work.

■Effects of introduction
In order to avoid confusion for users (supervisors) who had previously relied on paper, we collaborated with project members who are familiar with business systems and Tokyu Corporation's project staff who are familiar with users' opinions. We built a system that incorporates innovations such as a screen design that resembles a paper form.
As a result, we were able to spread the use of the system without causing major confusion, and now, one year after the system was introduced, we are improving business efficiency by speeding up input, aggregation, and reporting work through the centralization of data, and are improving the system's efficiency by reducing information mismanagement. We are beginning to see results such as reducing the burden of supervisory work by preventing entry errors, and we are now at the stage where information can be shared and utilized for education.
Systematization has also led to improvements in operational efficiency, such as making it easier to search and confirm past aptitude test information, and eliminating the need to move information each time crew members are transferred.

SBT will continue to provide support for system improvements, functional expansion, operation and maintenance, etc. Additionally, as a business partner that supports Tokyu Corporation's IT strategy, we aim to contribute to further improving safety levels with our knowledge of cutting-edge technologies such as AI and IoT.
