6:20~ | As communication with the operation management system was interrupted, our workers entered the data center and began an investigation. Confirm that the cause of the failure is not due to unauthorized access. We individually checked the status of the communication equipment, virtualization infrastructure, and mail system that make up the network, but found no abnormalities, so we restarted the communication equipment, switched to backup, and reconfigured the cluster of the virtualization infrastructure. | |

3. About the failure location
Emails sent and received pass through the firewall, DMZ switch, and are delivered from the email relay server to the destination. At that time, the mail relay server communicates with the spam quarantine server via the DMZ switch and the server aggregation switch.
When browsing the Internet, the connection goes from the firewall to the server aggregation switch, then to the proxy server, then through the server aggregation switch again, and then from the firewall to the Internet.
Communication was cut off due to a failure in the server aggregation switch that is the aggregation point for these routes, making it impossible to send and receive emails and browse the Internet.
We will continue to investigate this issue and consider measures to prevent recurrence.
