At 4:27 a.m. today, SB Technology Corp. (hereinafter referred to as the Company) detected a failure in Local Government Information Security Cloud system managed by the Company that made the Internet access service and email service unusable. The situation has been gradually restored since around 2:30 p.m.
Please note that this event was not caused by a cyber attack.
We sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience this has caused to our customers and other stakeholders.
The following items have been confirmed regarding this event.
1. cause
A failure occurred in the communication equipment and virtual infrastructure that make up the network.
2. Impact range
Internet access service and email service used by approximately 190,000 local government employees and municipalities in nine prefectures: Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Aomori, Fukushima, Niigata, Tochigi, Nagasaki, and Saga. The service (sending and receiving) is now unavailable.
3. current situation
We are carrying out restoration work and have been gradually recovering from around 2:30 pm.
We will inform you of the details of the cause of this incident and measures to prevent recurrence as soon as they are known.
