Promote smooth BYOD introduction!

SoftBank Technology Corp.

SoftBank Technology Corp. (President & CEO: Shinichi Ata, Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as SBT) has become SEGA Corporation (Representative Director and President: Naoya Tsurumi, Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as SEGA). We would like to inform you that we have introduced a BYOD* quarantine installation and operation service that allows personally owned PCs and smart devices to connect to the internal network while complying with security policy requirements.
*BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): Bringing your own personal information device etc. to use for work.

The BYOD quarantine installation and operation service provided by SBT is a service that installs CounterACT, a product that enables detection of unauthorized communications and unauthorized terminals, and operates and monitors CounterACT after installation.
By introducing this service, SEGA will build a strong quarantine network that prevents the connection of devices that violate internal security policies, strengthen internal network security, and utilize remote access operation and maintenance services. This makes it possible to reduce the management load.
SBT will continue to support SEGA's full-scale introduction of BYOD into its internal environment by providing better BYOD services.

Background of introduction

SEGA is a major game manufacturer that develops, manufactures, and sells amusement machines, operates amusement facilities, and develops and sells consumer content. Regarding connections to in-house systems, SEGA has implemented measures to prevent devices that violate security policies, such as those that do not have the latest patches applied to the OS or updated anti-virus software pattern files, from connecting to internal systems. It was necessary to introduce a security system that can quarantine the connection to ensure that the policy set by the administrator has been cleared when connecting.
As a measure to achieve these requirements, SBT has introduced CounterACT, a product that enables the detection of unauthorized communications and unauthorized terminals, and also proposed BYOD quarantine installation and operation services that perform post-installation operation and monitoring. CounterACT was chosen because it was highly praised for its wide range of OS types and antivirus software, and for its ability to significantly reduce the operational load by using SBT 's remote access operation and monitoring services after introducing CounterACT.

In order for customers to use SBT with peace of mind, SBT will continue to expand its functionality with the aim of providing installation and operation services with a higher level of security for mobile use in business settings.
