Password-protected files are encrypted, making it difficult to check for malware when receiving emails, and cases have been confirmed around the world where they are used as infection routes for attacks such as the increasingly popular Emotet malware. It has been. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has proposed measures to block these files*, and there is a movement in Japan to abolish the use of password-protected files. Based on this background, we have decided to discontinue the use of password-protected files in email accounts used by our employees for work, starting from 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022.
If you receive an email with a password-protected file attached to the email account of our employee after 13:00 on Monday, September 26, 2022, the email will be automatically deleted. Also, since no notification of e-mail deletion will be sent to the sender, please confirm with our company representative (recipient) how to send and receive files.
