■ Background
As the new coronavirus spreads on a global scale, a state of emergency has been declared for all prefectures in Japan. SBT has been working to prevent the spread of infection, such as teleworking for employees in principle, by utilizing the knowledge and experience of Microsoft Teams, which has been introduced throughout the company since May 2018. In consideration of the safety of analysts and institutional investors, we decided to hold the financial results briefing live-streamed based on our knowledge and experience with Microsoft Teams.
In preparation for the event, a two-day connection test was set up for the participants, and on the day of the event, only Ata and two executives who took the stage were present, and the other executives participated online. With the support of Microsoft Japan, high-quality video was projected on a screen on Microsoft Teams, and we were able to realize everything from the explanation of financial results to the Q&A session without any difference from the in-person financial results briefing.
In addition to the live streaming in which institutional investors and analysts participated, we also streamed a live event on Microsoft Teams for our employees, which was attended by more than 170 employees.
■ Initiatives for telework
SBT 's telework system began a trial in June 2018, and was introduced in October 2018 after various discussions centered on volunteer employees regarding the active use of Microsoft Teams and the effective use of telework. After the introduction, we will continue to work to further improve work efficiency and productivity through activities such as promoting the use of telework up to eight times a month, participating in Telework Days 2019, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's telework support declaration project. Here we are. For this reason, when the current state of emergency was declared, we were able to smoothly transition to a telework system without causing any confusion.
In order to share the know-how we have cultivated through this process with many customers, we are contributing to corporate telework and work style reform by holding seminars on the use of Microsoft Teams and providing our own service, clouXion, which enables telework.
