Background of renewal
In recent years, the number of hotel rooms has been increasing year by year, and according to a survey by CBRE, a major real estate service company, the number of hotel rooms will increase to approximately 65,000 in eight major cities*1 by around 2020 compared to 2016. We forecast an increase of 26%. In addition, the Private Lodging Business Law (New Private Lodging Law), which will come into effect in June 2018, will further accelerate the entry of private lodging businesses. The number of accommodations that users can choose from will increase significantly.
In addition, with the diversification of the hobbies and preferences of users and the increase in the number of foreign visitors to Japan, the scenes in which hotels are used are also diversifying, and hotels are Responding to diverse needs becomes necessary.
However, when preparing a wide variety of content tailored to customer needs, the information on the site becomes complicated and inconvenient, making it difficult for users to reach their desired page.

Matching with user needs
In response to these issues, this homepage renewal not only updated the design and made it compatible with multiple devices, but also introduced Sitecore, the first CMS (content management system) in the Japanese hotel industry, to quickly meet the needs of users. We have created a content management platform to respond to these requests.
Specifically, it will be possible to estimate the information a user needs based on site usage history, page transitions, search conditions, etc., and to switch the display of banners and some content accordingly. . This allows users to smoothly accomplish their goals, such as booking their desired accommodation plan or checking restaurants.
Going forward, the three companies will utilize the content management platform they have created to further improve the usability of hotel websites so that they can immediately provide users with the most appropriate content.
