Launch of new "easy" and "secure" tablet file access solution
SoftBank Technology Corp.
SoftBank Technology Corp. (President & CEO: Ata Shinichi, headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as SBT) today began selling "DirectPOD," provided by its strategic partner, TripodWorks. With the launch of DirectPOD, SBT will also roll out a "Direct Access Solution" that provides more secure in-house file access.
"DirectPOD" is a solution that allows users to access internal file servers and their own desk PCs from outside the office via tablet devices, enabling them to view documents stored within the company. This eliminates the need to prepare files in advance when out of the office, and allows users to respond immediately when documents are suddenly required. In the future, we plan to add and expand functions, such as a paperless conferencing function that allows meeting participants to share documents with each other.
SBT has begun implementing "DirectPOD" in-house, with plans to roll it out to all employees in the future. Based on the experience and technical know-how gained from this in-house implementation, SBT plans to provide "DirectPOD" and "Direct Access Solutions" that utilize DirectPOD. The company aims to have this solution implemented in 500 companies over the next three years, with sales of 200 million yen.
■ About direct access solutions
The "Direct Access Solution" is a total solution that enables more secure in-house file access by combining DirectPOD with device authentication and device management (MDM). It can restrict access to authorized devices only, and not only provides remote lock and wipe functions in case of device loss, but also integrates device usage policy management, ensuring safe and secure access and operation.

With the launch of this solution, SBT has strengthened its total support services for smart devices. Going forward, SBT will continue to promote the business use of smart devices by providing comprehensive services ranging from consulting to education and operation.
Regarding the launch of this solution, we have received a comment from Kenichi Sasaki, President and CEO of Tripod Works Inc.
