Using iPads to realize organized sales activities in the cloud era (revolution in sales style)
SoftBank Technology Corp.
SoftBank Technology Corp. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Norikazu Ishikawa; hereinafter referred to as SBT) will begin offering "Smart Catalog Access (formerly known as Smart Business Library)" (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"), a sales support service for businesses that uses Apple's tablet device (multi-function mobile device) "iPad," on September 15th.
As the use of iPhones and iPads by businesses rapidly expands, demand for corporate services that combine smart devices with cloud services is also growing. This service is a cloud service for businesses that delivers digitized documents such as catalogs, proposals, and videos to iPads via the network. Aimed at businesses and sales representatives who often work outside the office, the service offers a secure usage environment, including (1) a viewer that allows for high-speed viewing of even large files and (2) detailed access control on an account-by-account basis. Furthermore, (3) document viewing logs are accumulated for each user, and file operation history can be viewed on the administrator screen provided within the service. Analyzing visualized activity history leads to improved business efficiency. The service aims to secure 100 orders in its first year.

Prior to today's launch, the service has already been introduced to a major housing and building materials manufacturer. 5,000 sales representatives have been given iPads to use the service. By digitizing the catalogs entirely, the company has eliminated the need to carry around dozens of catalogs, reducing the burden on sales representatives and significantly reducing catalog production costs.
"Smart Catalog Access" is one of the services in the "Access Service" area, which enables customers to use cloud services comfortably and safely in SBT 's business area "Cloud Enabling®." Going forward, SBT will continue to enhance its lineup of front-end services, such as services specialized for large files such as drawing data and videos, and also plan to gradually develop back-office services such as operation log analysis functions, report displays, and content management systems to reduce file management burdens. Collectively, these will be referred to as the "Smart Document Access" series, and will be developed into even more attractive services for customers.
