SoftBank Technology introduced Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd. 's email service "Microsoft Office 365" ahead of the curve for other companies

SoftBank Technology Corp. (President and CEO: Norikazu Ishikawa, headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as SBT") has decided to migrate the email functions of the intranet ASP service it provides to SoftBank Group to the cloud service "Office 365" provided by Microsoft Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MS"), and has completed the early migration of its internal systems.

[Background to the full transition]

■ Considering improving disaster preparedness within SoftBank Group and using other Microsoft services
For many years, SBT has been using its own resources to implement, operate, maintain, and provide cloud services such as Active Directory®, Exchange email services, and intranet file servers for SoftBank Group companies. However, taking into account cost benefits, improved disaster recovery capabilities, and the possibility of using other Microsoft services such as SharePoint® and Lync®, SBT decided to completely migrate its Exchange email services to Office 365.
Prior to the migration within SoftBank Group, SBT began a gradual migration to Office 365 in June. As of June 28, the migration of approximately 600 users, including all SBT employees (including external employees), was completed.

[Future Developments]

■Providing "Office 365" implementation and migration support services for companies outside SoftBank Group
SBT provides on-premise Active Directory® and Exchange environment construction and operation services to customers outside SoftBank Group. Building on this experience, the company will provide implementation and migration support services for Office 365 in addition to its existing services.
