Provides iPad-compatible platform service for online supermarkets

Based on the SaaS e-commerce platform service "C-OMPS® SellingClub"

SoftBank Technology Corp. (President and CEO: Norikazu Ishikawa, headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as SBT) will provide platform services for iPad-compatible online supermarkets to Japan Errand Service Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as JOS). JOS was established in October 2010, led by Sankin Co., Ltd., a company with a proven track record in the online supermarket business (winning first place in the Yahoo! Store Gourmet category in 2008 and first place in the Yahoo! Auction Food category in 2009).

To mark the start of JOS's business, SBT will provide a SaaS-based "platform service for online supermarkets" based on the C-OMPS® SellingClub (*1) e-commerce package, which has a proven track record, with enhanced online supermarket and iPad compatibility features.

The online supermarket service provided by JOS to supermarkets nationwide allows affiliated supermarkets to reduce customer acquisition costs and secure a certain level of sales from customers by lending dedicated tablet devices such as iPads to customers within their trading area (a minimum monthly usage amount is set as a rental condition).
In addition, by providing easy-to-use tablet devices to customers who are not good at using PCs (such as the elderly), the online supermarket service will be able to reach a customer base that could not be fully reached by traditional online supermarkets that rely on PCs.

JOS will sell the online supermarket platform service developed in cooperation with SBT to supermarkets nationwide as a package with its own independently developed online supermarket service. By providing local marketing, sales know-how, and logistics know-how, including the rental of dedicated terminals, JOS will be able to provide customers nationwide with an even more convenient and easy-to-use online supermarket system.
JOS aims to introduce the service to 100 stores over the next three years, and SBT will provide support in terms of system services.
