Background of introduction

Takasago Thermal Engineering is known as a pioneer in the air conditioning equipment industry and provides comprehensive system engineering centered on air conditioning.
Ahead of the relocation and consolidation of the company's head office offices scheduled for April 2014, the company's information systems department was building an integrated communications infrastructure based on the concept of "strengthening concentration and control."

Amid various issues such as the burden associated with operation and maintenance of the existing environment and the decline in system processing capacity due to an increase in the number of users, the key points in selection were ``to be able to use the latest environment that is constantly updated'' and ``to be able to use the latest environment from outside the company or from the field.'' The decision was made to use Office 365 (Exchange Online, Lync Online, SharePoint Online) because of its ability to create a shared system that is easy to use and can be used globally.

Since this is the company's first full-scale cloud implementation, when selecting a support vendor, we not only have a track record of migrating email systems to Exchange Online and an understanding of SharePoint Online, which is used to build portals, but also take into account security considerations. A wide range of support was required, including the construction of an authentication system and long-term support.

In response, SBT introduced ADFS on Cloud, an original solution that controls access by linking Office 365 with Active Directory, built an integrated communication platform that includes other companies' workflow products, and provided help desk support after the start of operation. We made a proposal to provide one-stop support, and the company was adopted.

After introducing Office 365, the company has been using various tools to improve communication and business efficiency, and is currently operating it at overseas locations such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

In particular, it is being used as an integrated communication platform for the entire group, including disseminating information on a new portal site built on SharePoint Online and holding online meetings by sharing drawings on Lync Online.
In addition, by linking with ADFS on Cloud, it is possible to simplify access from outside the company or at the work site, as well as secure connections, and improve user convenience in aspects such as Active Directory synchronization and password update management. I am.

Going forward, Takasago Thermal Engineering plans to further introduce the system to its domestic subsidiaries and overseas bases in India, China, Vietnam, etc., and to promote the enhancement of the information sharing environment with a view to controlling terminals overseas.

SBT will continue to work on providing high value-added solutions and services for customers considering migration to cloud services.
